Four-day Alvas Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat 2013 concludes

Moodbidri: The four-day Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat 2013 at Vidyagiri in Moodbidri, had a grand conclusion as prominent personalities were felicitated for their contribution towards their respective fields of on Sunday, December 22.

Renowned poet Jayanth Kaikini, Dr Hannibal Cabral from Karnataka Theological Society, HS Nagabhushan from Shimoga Kannada Sangha, noted  writers D. Na Mogasale, Fakir Mohammad Katapady, Dr Kamala Hampana, Dr HS Venkateshamurthy,  Yakshagana artiste Kumble Sunder Rao, Dr DK Chowta, Moodankoodu Chennaswamy and  Uma Kulakarni, were felicitated.

Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala presided over the function.  Dr M Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Foundation was praised and honoured for organizing such an event and uplifting the culture for the youth.

Dr M Veerappa Moily, Union Minister for Petroleum, Natural Gas, Forest and Environment, was present as a chief guest and deplored the criticisms against Alva’s Nudisiri. Criticisms will not deter an individual but will help him come out strong, Moily said. 

Various cultural programmes were organized, Dhananjay Kumar compered the programme.
