Countdown begins for Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat

Moodbidri : Moodbidri, famous as the Jaina Kashi of the South is all decked up for the Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat, the spectacular literary and cultural extravaganza that will get off to a colourful start  today at Vidyagiri. The stage is set for a serious thinking on “Kannada Manassu Andu Indu Mundu”. The stupendous efforts put in by Dr Mohan Alva, the rallying force behind the event is applaudable and worth  emulation.

Nudisiri  and Virasat is nothing new to the town on Moodbidri located on the NH 13 leading towards Mangalore. However this time it is a combination of the two in a sprawling 100 acre area in nine different platforms.

Moodbidri presents a whole new world  and is decked up like a bride with thousands of Goodu Deepas and other decorative lightings, the  replica of Gomateshwara,  Kannada flags flying high and much more.

The main venue of the event is the Ratnakaravarna Vedike. All along the Vedike one can see the works of art  of artistes who took part in Alva’s Chitrasiri, Varna Siri and Varna Virasat.

A model of the chariots of coastal district temples, can be seen in front of the main hall. On the platform is the Bangarda Ther (Golden Chariot) replica donated by GR Upadhya of Kavoor.

The Virasat Maidan features exhibition, flowers and furits show and book fest. Huge thermocol works of Gomateshwara and Ganapathi also greets visitors.

There are hundreds and dreams and aspirations as well as curiosity all over as to what special is in store in Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat this time. It’s just a few minutes to go for the spectacular event to begin with the most colourful procession reflecting the cultural splendour of the land.
