Bangalore : Senior Congress leader and former minister DK Shivakumar has said that it was left to the discretion of the party high command and the Chief Minister on whether or not to give him a cabinet berth. He has also clarified that he was not lobbying for a ministership.
Speaking to reporters, here Shivakumar said he has effectively discharged the responsibilities shouldered on him by the party despite being projected as tainted time and again. He also said the allegations have never come in the way of discharging his duties and that he has been able to face it courageously.
Similar allegations were heard during the Bangalore Rural and Mandya LS elections The people have given their reply. The people want me to get a cabinet berth. The malicious propaganda has not worried me, he said.
Shivakumar further said he has noticed media reports that the high command has given its nod to induct him into the cabinet. “But so far I have not received any message from the CM or the high command,” he further clarified.
