Moodbidri : Folk songs and stories have  enjoyed a very special recognition in the society since times immemorial, said Dr Abhay Kumar.

He was addressing the gathering  at the Nadoja HL Nagegowda Vedike  during the Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat at Moodbidri on Decembe20, Friday. Folk songs have their own distinct flavour and  various folk dances presented in the coastal belt  generously use these folk songs, he said.

Dr Abhay Kumar also emphasised the  need to further popularise folk songs and stories.
