Mangalore: With regard to the case of Sunil Kumar who allegedly tortured his wife Sumithra driving her to suicide, Bhajrangdal leader Sharan Pumpwell  has  claimed that the accused was not a member of the Bhajrangdal.

The victim’s brother Mohan, relatives and members of Bhajarang Dal visited the mortuary at a private hospital to receive the  body if Sumithra who had attempted suicide last week and died in the hospital on Tuesday.

Sharan Pumpwell who was present on the  occasion, said “We will stand by the victim and fight for justice. Sunil is just my neighbor and it is his brother who is a member of Bhajrang Dal.” “The Bhajrangdal will extend all co-operation in the investigation,” he said adding  the Bhajrangdal will not tolerate atrocities on women.
