A New Jersey father, Christopher Gregor, aged 31, is facing trial for the alleged murder of his son, Corey Micciolo, back in 2021. Shocking video evidence presented during the trial depicts Gregor compelling his six-year-old son to run on a treadmill at high speed and incline, as reported by the New York Post.

The footage captures Gregor and Corey entering the Atlantic Heights Clubhouse fitness center on March 20th, 2021. It shows Gregor forcing Corey onto the treadmill and continuously ramping up the difficulty settings despite the boy falling numerous times.

This disturbing incident is said to have originated from Gregor’s concerns about Corey’s weight. If found guilty, Gregor could face a life sentence in prison.

The trial took an emotional toll as Corey’s mother, Bre Micciolo, became tearful while viewing the distressing video footage in court. According to the US Sun, Ms. Micciolo had alerted child protective services about her son’s injuries just days before his tragic death. She also urged Gregor to take Corey to a doctor on April 1st. Reports from Court TV indicate that during the doctor’s visit, Corey disclosed that his father had made him run on the treadmill because of weight concerns.

Unfortunately, the next day, Gregor rushed Corey to the hospital due to alarming symptoms, including stumbling, slurred speech, nausea, and shortness of breath. Despite medical efforts, Corey could not be saved. An initial autopsy revealed that Corey’s death resulted from blunt force injuries, including cardiac and liver contusions, with acute inflammation and sepsis, as reported by the New York Post.

Gregor was apprehended in July 2021 on child neglect charges after investigators reviewed surveillance footage from the fitness center. An arrest warrant obtained by the outlet detailed the allegations, stating that Gregor caused Corey to fall multiple times by increasing the treadmill’s speed and appeared to bite his head.

Forensic analysis concluded Corey’s death to be a homicide, citing evidence of chronic abuse, including blunt impact injuries to his chest and abdomen, a laceration on his heart, pulmonary contusion, and liver laceration and contusion.

The accused was arrested on March 9, 2022, in connection with his son’s death and is currently being held without bond at the Ocean City Jail.
