When it comes to momos, saying no is nearly impossible for enthusiasts. While these delightful dumplings are readily available in numerous cafes and restaurants, there’s a unique charm in relishing street-side momos with friends. Lately, a distinctive variant called “popcorn momos” has captured the fancy of Delhiites, drawing all momo aficionados to GK-1 market in South Delhi where they’re sold by a modest street vendor known as ‘Catlee Momos’. A viral Instagram video posted by Gaurav Wasan (@youtubeswadofficial) showcased these bite-sized treats, garnering over a million views.

These petite “popcorn” momos, roughly 2 inches in length, have gained immense traction on social media, attracting throngs of eager customers daily.

In the video, Catlee, the cart owner, remarks, “While my momos have enjoyed popularity for quite some time, our presence on Instagram has certainly amplified it. I’m happy to see people queuing up at the cart for these momos, thanks to our growing fan base.”

Available in vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, including paneer fillings, these popcorn momos come accompanied by three tantalizing dips—spicy chutney, mayonnaise, and garlic chutney. Each plate contains approximately 15 pieces of these delectable delights. The caption of the viral video directs interested individuals to Catlee Momos at N block, GK-1 market, New Delhi, operational from 6 pm until stocks last.

Instagram foodies shared their enthusiasm in the comments section:

“I stumbled upon this gem’s momos about 5-6 years ago, long before the social media frenzy. Honestly, the best momos I’ve ever tasted,” one fan reminisced. “Oh, those momos are divine! I’ve indulged in them countless times, and I still yearn for the ones from GK-1, N block,” another chimed in. A third enthusiast exclaimed, “Wow, I could devour 100 of these without a second thought!”

However, not all palates were equally impressed. Some viewers expressed their reservations, with one commenting, “Frankly, I found them to be overhyped.” Another critique added, “Small momos equate to less filling and more dough.”
