A sword-wielding individual went on a rampage in London on Tuesday, resulting in the tragic death of a 14-year-old boy and injuries to four others. The assailant was subdued and apprehended by a female police officer, as captured in a widely circulated video on social media.

The footage depicts the officer confronting the suspect, who attempted to flee. Swift action was taken as the officer deployed a taser, bringing the suspect to the ground. Subsequently, additional officers arrived and assisted in the arrest.
Authorities reported that the suspect, aged 36, is under arrest on suspicion of murder and is currently hospitalized due to injuries sustained from a collision prior to the stabbing spree.
The incident occurred in East London, where the suspect initially drove a vehicle into a residence before proceeding to carry out the attacks with a sword. Law enforcement emphasized that there is no indication of terrorism involvement.
Chief Superintendent Stuart Bell of the Metropolitan Police provided updates on the victims, revealing that one individual succumbed to their injuries, while the others, including two police officers, are hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
In response to the tragedy, both King Charles and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak expressed condolences and commended the bravery of the emergency responders. Buckingham Palace issued a statement conveying the King’s sympathy for the affected individuals and their families, highlighting the valiant efforts of the emergency services.
Prime Minister Sunak condemned the violence, affirming that such acts have no place in society and expressing gratitude for the emergency services’ swift and courageous response.
