Ayodhya: Disputing the assertion made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding the non-invitation of President Droupadi Murmu to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya due to her tribal background, the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust clarified on Tuesday that Gandhi’s claims are unfounded and misleading.

Champat Rai, the general secretary of the trust, stated that the President of India was indeed invited to the event held in January this year, expressing strong objection to Rahul Gandhi’s allegations.

“At a gathering in Gujarat, Rahul ji alleged that President Droupadi Murmu was excluded from the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya due to her tribal identity. As the General Secretary and Trustee of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, I firmly oppose these assertions made by Rahul ji. They are entirely devoid of truth and are misleading,” Rai remarked.

He emphasized that Rahul Gandhi’s unsubstantiated remarks regarding an event that occurred three months prior could sow seeds of division within society.

“These portions of his speech are deeply concerning to us,” Rai added.

He further clarified that both President Murmu and former President Ram Nath Kovind were invited to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.

“Individuals from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and economically disadvantaged backgrounds were invited and participated. Additionally, the laborers involved in the construction of the temple were also present during the Prana Pratishtha ceremony. Moreover, several families belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and other backward castes were given the opportunity to worship in the ‘Goodh Mandap’ of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir,” Rai elaborated.

President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Ayodhya and offer prayers to Ram Lalla on Wednesday.

As per a press release from the Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Murmu will also partake in the Saryu pujan and aarti ceremonies.

“During her visit to Ayodhya, the President will pay homage and perform aarti at Shri Hanuman Garhi Temple, Prabhu Shri Ram Temple, and Kuber Teela. She will also participate in the Saryu pujan and aarti ceremonies,” the release detailed.

The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Shri Ram Lalla at Ayodhya’s historic temple was conducted on January 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi overseeing the Vedic rituals, guided by a team of priests.

The ceremony was attended by representatives from various spiritual and religious groups across the nation. Individuals from diverse backgrounds, including representatives of tribal communities, also participated in the ceremony.

The construction of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir follows the traditional Nagara architectural style. The temple’s dimensions are as follows: length (east-west) 380 feet, width 250 feet, and height 161 feet. It is supported by a total of 392 pillars and 44 doors.

The temple’s pillars and walls feature intricately carved depictions of Hindu deities, gods, and goddesses. In the main sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor, the idol of Shri Ramlalla depicting the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram has been installed.

Following the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Lord Ram Lalla, numerous devotees have been flocking to Ayodhya. The footfall at the Hanumangarhi Ram Temple has been steadily increasing, with countless devotees visiting daily.
