Iraq: In an incident which can be termed as a brave sacrifice, a Muslim man hugged an ISIS militant wearing a suicide vest before explosion, saving hundreds of lives near Sayyed Mohammad Shrine.

Najih Shaker Al-Baldawi, the man who scarified his life was a local resident of Balad city in Iraq. Najih stopped a suicide bomber from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) at his town’s shrine. He hugged the militant before his explosive laden vest detonated. He along with the militant was killed besides killing 37 others.
Najih’s body took the direct impact of the explosion, reducing the number of deaths. Along with 37 deaths, 70 others were injured.
Sources said that the attack was planned by ISIS to destroy the shrine.
The attack comes days after a an attack in Iraq’s Karrada’area which claimed over 300 lives, the deadliest single attack in Iraq since the war to oust Saddam Hussein 13 years ago.
It is said that it was an attempt by the ISIS militants to destroy one of the important Shia shrines of Iraq. A selfless Muslim man’s sacrifice ensured that the shrine remains intact.
It was yet another bomb blasts out of numerous ones in Iraq, but it was not the terrorist who must have attained heaven!
