Police stated on Tuesday that an autorickshaw driver who had stolen a 20-year-old college student of a gold chain and ring was apprehended thanks to crucial CCTV evidence.
It seemed that the youngster had escaped from his house. The HAL police detained Sadiq, also known as Anil, an auto driver who lives in MS Palya in northeastern Bengaluru. The kid said that Sadiq grabbed his luggage and left him in the middle of a bus stop.
The mother of the kid reported him missing to the HAL station on April 4. She claimed her son had fled after receiving criticism for hanging out with his pals too much. After launching a manhunt, the police located him at the Puri Jagannath temple in Odisha.
The cops said that his parents discovered his chain and ring were gone when he got back home. They lodged a further grievance, alleging that the youngster was abducted by an autorickshaw driver from Basavanagar, which is close to Doddanekundi, and that the driver left him halfway to Majestic and seized his bag.
The autorickshaw driver pulled over to answer a summons from nature close to Ramesh Nagar. The boy got down as well, leaving his stuff in the car. “Sadiq promptly left in his car,” the parents complained. Once the youngster informed police that the auto driver had assisted him in withdrawing money, police promptly collected CCTV footage from an ATM close to Ramesh Nagar.
“We identified the culprit by compiling video from every CCTV along the route. After his car was found, he was taken into custody at his MS Palya home, an investigator informed DH. According to the investigator, Sadiq had mortgaged the gold in a private financing firm in the name of his spouse. The officer declared, “We have found the gold that the suspect stole.”
