Doha: Karnataka Sangha Qatar, a frontline community group celebrated ‘Engineers Day-2018’, to commemorate the birthday of iconic Engineer of India, Bharat Ratna, Sir M. Vishweshwaraiah at Mumbai Hall-ICC.

ICC president Milan Arun was the chief guest of the evening and Engg. Ahmed Jassim Al Jolo, chairman of Qatar society of Engineers was Guest of Honour. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by the KSQ Management committee members along with Guests. KSQ president Venkat Rao addressed with the welcome keynote and Ladies wing coordinator Asha Nanjappa briefed the life story of legendary Engineer Sir.M. Vishweshwaraiah.

IEI Ex-President Mr.Seenu Pillai highlighted ‘Green Building Technology’ in brief.

A small stage programme was organized, VS Mannangi General Manager of Almuftah Contracting and Mr.Seenu Pillai were honoured with Abhiyanthashree awards for their contribution in the field of Engineering.

Speaking on the occasion Engg Ahmed Jassim Al Jolo highlighted the dedication of Indian Engineers in various fields of the Qatar society. Meanwhile, Ahmad Jassim appreciated the Indian community and Indian Engineers for contribution towards development of the oil rich Qatar.

Meanwhile KSQ vice President Ravi Shetty described about charitable activities conducted by sangha towards Kerala and Kodagu flood relief fund. ‘Humanity Trust’ chairman Mr. Roshan Dsouza Belman was honoured by sangha for his great initiation towards charity works.

The budding engineers Dyllan Serrao, Sanvi Patel, Ishita Somayaji, Manshi Somayaji, Reevan Fernandes, Kartik Manjunath, Poornima presented their talent with ‘Engineering models’. All the participants were presented with certificates from the hands of chief Guest. Sanvi N Patel won best Model Prize.

MCC President Simon Dsilva, past president Prakash Noronha, ISC secretary Deepak shetty, community leaders Arun Kumar, Subramanya Hebbagilu,Dr.Sanjay Kudri, TKQ president Asmath Ali, were present on the occasion.

General Secretary Sandeep Reddy delivered the vote of thanks and Ladies wing coordinator Asha Nanjappa compered the program. The programme concluded with high tea.
