Mangaluru: Dr. Selvamani R assumed charge as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, on Saturday, September 22.

Soon after taking charge as CEO, he attended the 13th general meeting of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat. Though it was his first meeting as CEO, the way of handling the meeting and responding to the queries of Zilla Panchayat members showed his ability.

Earlier, Selvamani has served as CEO of Bidar Zilla Panchayat for 22 months. He passed the IAS exam in the year 2013. He replaced Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) cadre officer Dr. M R Ravi as he has been transferred as the Commissioner of the Textiles and Handlooms Department.
