Dubai: Surathkal Parishioners residing in the UAE celebrated the feast of their patron the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 3, Friday 2016. The celebration was held in the afternoon at India Club, Dubai. ESPA – Emirates Surathkal Parishioners Association, the association comprising of all Surathkal Parishioners residing in the UAE conducted the programme.

The programme began with a prayer followed by lighting of the lamp by the advisors of the association Valerian D’Almeida, President Roydon Roche, Immediate Past President Ashok D’Souza and Abu Dhabi representative Jerald D’Souza.

Vice President Vincent Misquith welcomed the gathering and mentioned that the main objective of ESPA was to bring closer all the Surathkal Parishioners residing in the UAE.

Founder president Sunil Pinto conveyed the wishes of Surathkal Parish Priest Fr Anthony Lobo.

An entertainment programme including dance performance by Nicole Rosario, Calvina Pinto, Janine D’Souza, Aaron Misquith, Alston Misquith, Joshua D’Souza and Joshita D’Souza was well appreciated.

More than 20 well trained dancers by Arun Lobo of Feet Beat group gave a stunning performance.

Comedy Skits by Wilson Serrao, Avinash D’Souza, Rolan Martis and Cleeta Andrade entertained the audience.

The Band Eagles regaled the audience with a variety of Konkani and Hindi numbers. Melwyn, Preema and Prashant were at their best. The audience was spell bound on their seats and cheered the band. ESPA members Calvina Pinto, Wilson Crasta, Allwyn D’Souza, Desmond D’Souza and Vincent Misquith also entertained the audience with their songs. There was a song sung by Ashton Pinto with Calvina Pinto on guitar.

A mini fashion show of children was also held. Greyar, Calvina, Ashton, Dalston, Senora, Arhan, Janine, Karl, Megan, Ashlyn, Adeline, Nicole participated in the show.

Spot games and lucky draws were conducted and prizes were given away by Charles Aranha, William Sequeira, Vineeth Cutinho, Romoola D’Souza, Gilbert D’Souza, David D’Souza, Keron Misquith and Sunil Pinto.

Well known MC Canute Pinto Kelarai ably compered the whole programme. Secretary Clara Pinto proposed the vote of thanks.

The Baila dance from Eagles took every one to the dance floor and the audience craved for more. The next programme of ESPA will be a picnic in the month of November.
The programme ended with Laudate.

During the programme the election for the ESPA committee was held. Valerian D’Almeida the advisor of the association conducted the election. The below members were elected for the committee for the year 2016 to 2018.
