Qatar: ‘Nothing is impossible in life, only the desire to achieve something will make a person reach to it” This quote would suit none other than Qatar resident community personality Deepak Shetty.
Deepak Shetty, a multi-talented community leader has been chosen this year for the prestigious ‘International Aryabhata Award’, which will be presented to him on May 18, 2016 at Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bengaluru along with another Qatar resident philanthropist Ravi Shetty. It’s a happy moment among the Karnataka based community in Qatar, because these two personalities are very familiar among community activities.
Deepak Shetty was born on October 17, 1971 at Kundapur, Karnataka to the couple Sacchidananda and Sheela Shetty as an eldest son in the family. He completed his primary education at Kambadakone, highschool and PU at Belman, Karkala. After that he moved to Bijapur for securing an engineering degree in telecommunication.
Deepak started his career in Modi Xerox at Delhi and moved to Qatar in the year 2000. In the year 1999 Deepak tied the knot with Akshaya Shetty and now they have two kids Sanjith and Sashmith.
After moving to Qatar, Deepak involved in many community activities and dedicated himself to serve the needy people. Actively involving in games, tournament, cultural program, environmental campaign under the banner of Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) and other Karnataka based associations he served the society by holding many positions. He served the KSQ community as a general secretary, sports secretary and as a president and now currently he is the Chairman of Advisor Board for KSQ.
Under Deepak’s leadership KSQ has conducted many environmental campaigns throughout the country and secured prestigious ‘Ministry of Interior Rolling Trophy’ award in the year 2015.
Deepak served the Kannada Community in 5th International Kananda Sammelana which was held in 2008. Along with other community, Deepak himself dedicated to the society. There were times when even in the midnight, he helped the needy ones only on a single call.
Recently, ICBF Qatar had honored Deepak for his selfless service towards society. Now the ‘International Aryabhata Award’ adds one more feather to his cap. Speaking to the media, Deepak thanked all his friends and family members who always supported his activities and helped him in his achievements.
