Doha: A renowned socio cultural group Karnataka Sangha Qatar organized “Environment Awareness Campaign” here at Al Muftah Workers Camp – Al Wukair on 16th Friday morning as part of its participation in Qatar National Environment Day Celebration, which is being held under the patronage of Ministry of Environment and Indian Cultural Centre.
KSQ is in the forefront of promoting “Green Initiative” not only now but from last couple of years by organizing many Environment Awareness related programs and adopting Best Practices within the Organization.

The program started at 9.30AM, president Deepak shetty & vice president Nagesh Rao escorts the chief guest of the program, President of ICBF Aravind Patil & former KSQ president, CEO of Almuftah Veeresh Mannangi to the stage. The stage was set from used banners and waste materials & It was main attraction of the day. ICC secretary Divakar Poojari also present on the occasion.
Labors were given awareness about “Conserving water, Construction waste management, Domestic waste management, Air Pollution and its adverse impact”. Eminent speakers Manjunath Rao & Nirmala Raghuraman highlighted the topics in front of gathering. Meanwhile ‘Best out of Waste’ Scrap Art Competition was held for workers. Many took part in the event and presented art/products created from scrap materials available at their camp. Winners were awarded the Prizes.
The program followed plantation of sampling at campus, children’s, women’s & more than 300 people actively took part into the program.

Messaieed beach cleaning, Galfar messaieed plantation of sampling, Best out of Waste competitions for children & women’s, Elocution speech competitions and many more. Right now it is a not just a campaign for us, it’s a mission for Karnataka Sangha Qatar” said by president Deepak shetty to the media.
