ZP Prez pays visit to tribals deprived of basic amenities

Siddapura:The zilla panchayat president Shivappa and social justice steering Committee president Raja Rao paid a visit to the tribal colonies located in deep forests in Tattalli, Diddalli, Basavanahalli, Moodabailu and Chottepare that comes under the limits of Maldare and Chennayyanakote, who are leading life worst than animals as they are deprived of essential facilities.

Addressing the media persons, Shivappa said that the tribals living in woods are deprived of basic amenities.  The title deeds for dwellings were issued to them under Forest Act of 2006; likewise, other tribal dwellers also approached the district authorities in order to issue title deeds.  Meanwhile, zilla panchayat will take early measures on bringing the tribal dwellers into the timainstream of the society, said Shivappa.

The foundations were laid  to construct dwellings for tribals and will be completed at the earliest.The tribals were living in huts, while the motion was set for building over 1,000 houses to them in the woods across Virajapet taluk.The first phase of works will be completed shortly, said Shivappa.  The drinking water supply, electricity connections and setting up of ration shops is under way, added Shivappa.
