Realtor murder case : Cops expedite probe

Kasargod :  Kasargod police have hastened investigation into the case of murder of Muttalib (38), a real estate businessman of Uppala who was hacked to death in his car while on way home.

Police have said notorious criminal Kalia Rafique was behind the murder and have launched a search for him in Kasargod as well as in several places of Karnataka.

The murder took place on October 24, Thursday night when Muttalib was on way home at Uppala Mannagai. The assailants who chased his car intercepted his car and killed him. It is learnt the assailants had come by a white coloured car which was parked around 200 meters away from the spot of the crime.

The post mortem of Muttalib’s body revealed that there were 40 stab marks. Locals said they had even heard sounds of gun shots.

Meanwhile, police have gathered information that an attempt had been made on the life of Muttalib around six months ago. He had also passed on information to a police officer regarding the threat to his life, about a month ago.
