Newskarnataka – Mysore

Mysore: “If a student passes in first attempt, he will not get another opportunity to pass. But a student who fails has another opportunity to pass and even has an opportunity to be the topper…!

This was how Yogaraj Bhat, director of Mungaru Male fame encouraged the students who get disappointed on failure in exams. The occasion was the valedictory function organised by the Co-Curricular Activities Committee of the Maharaja College at its Centenary Hall on Tuesday May 6.

“Years ago I had come to Mysore hoping to do my post-graduation in Maharaja College. But, that was not to be and I pursued law at JSS College. Then I never thought myself as a Mysorite. But now that I am in Mysore after entering the film industry, and  I have become a Mysorite,” he recollected his association with the cultural city.

“There is mobile, but no currency, there is pocket but not money, there is attendance, but no class, there is father but no pocket money.Student life is like walking in a park. You pass or fail in exams, but always remain students in life,” Bhat advised students in his own filmi dialogue style.

Actress Radhika Pandit was the chief guest and the star attraction of the event.

Dr J Shankerappa, Chief of the Department of Philosophy,  GK Anand of Criminology Department as well as staff Lakshmamma, Gauramma, Chandra, Jayaram and Kanthamani who retired from service were felicitated.
