Mysuru: The Rituals for the Royal wedding of Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar began on Friday with prayers being offered at the temple within the palace premises.

Prayers were offered by the priest at the temple in the morning between 9 and 10.30 AM and the offerings were carried to the main palace later. The people who took part in the prayers were dressed in traditional attire. The prayers were offered at Laxmi Venkatramanaswamy temple to prevent any impediments during the six wedding period which is taking place after a gap 40 years in the palace.

Red carpets have been laid at specific places and arrangements are being made for the special prayer ( Puja ) which will begin in the morning at 4AM tomorrow at the elephant entrance of the palace near the historic pillar where a pandal made of coconut palms has been erected. In addition banana plants and flowers are being used for decorating the temporary prayer venue.

During muhurtham which will be held on June 27 between 9.05am and 9.30am Yaduveer will be wearing coat Angarka, designed by Pramoda Devi. The reception will be held on June 28 between 7.30pm and 8.30pm. The duo got engaged in 2013 itself and the marriage date was finalized in March.

Apart from state and union ministers, consulates from Germany, France, Switzerland and United States will also be attending the wedding. There is also a dress code for the men who are attending the reception. They have to wear white or black long coat, white trousers, lonunge suit, ‘valli’and turban.

Public restricted to palace: Many tourists who are not aware about public restriction into palace from March 24 to 29 visited palace but had to go back disappointed as they were told by police that entry is restricted due to wedding rituals.
