24-year-old Infosys employee hacked to death by stalker

Chennai: A man who stalked a 24-year-old infosys employee for months, hacked her to death at a railway station in Chennai here on Friday, June 24 when she was waiting for her daily train on her way to work.

The incident took place at around 6.45 am at the Nungambakkam railway station.

According to eyewitnesses, the man approached her and after a verabl fight, he attacked her with a sickle in her neck and face. The woman died on the spot.

The railway police who have taken up the case, said that as there are no CCTV cameras at the station – one of the busiest in Chennai – it has become a tough task to nab the culprit. Yet the police have some strong leads that a man used to stalk her at her workplace 60 km from Chennai.

In a statement, Infosys said: “We are saddened by the unfortunate incident that has led to the demise of our employee in Chennai. We are working with the local authorities as they investigate the matter and will continue to provide our co-operation and support.”
