Mysore :A 60-year-old woman fell off from a KSRTC bus  near the T-junction at the traffic signal near Kukkarahalli lake on Mysore-Bogadi Road yesterday morning, succumbed to head  injuries at K.R. Hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Ningamma, wife of Bheemegowda, a resident of Kaniyana Hundi village in the taluk.

 It is learnt that the deceased Ningamma, accompanied by her brother Eregowda had come to the city to see her new born grandson at N.G. Hospital in Paduvarahalli in city but couldn’t fulfill her wishes.

Reportedly the accident was caused when the driver of the bus (KSRTC bus (KA09 F-3444) plying on Route Number 69/74 from Gaddige to Paduvarahalli)  moved the bus, before the woman could alight. She attempted to alight at a signal at which the bus had stopped at around 11.30 am after seeing her brother Eregowda doing the same.

The cops, posted at the spot on security duty on the eve of Chief Minister’s visit, shifted the profusely bleeding Ningamma to K.R. Hospital where all efforts to save her failed.

K.R. Traffic Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
