Mysuru: Mayor B L Bhyrappa said on Tuesday that if the Royal Family furnishes at least one of the six documents asked by the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), they will provide Khata to them.

Mysuru Corporation intensifies tax collection to meet target of Rs 200 cr-1“The royal family apart from just producing the court order and the requisition letter for the Khata for 10.25 acre of land at Garke Maala which is also known as Doddakera Maidan, have not produced any documents related to the property. We have replied to their letter requesting for six documents including registration document, single plan and approval, single layout plan approval and change of land use document. Even the court in its order has clearly mentioned that we have to provide khata within 8 weeks after receiving the required documents. Till date they have not produced any documents to us. If they produce any one of the above documents, we are ready to give Khata to them. We have also not issued Khata to JSS Institution which got 3.25 acre of land through auction,” said Bhyrappa.

He further mentioned that the Royal family’s claim that the property belongs to them is right. He said that MUDA doesn’t have any documents to claim that Doddakera Maidan or Garke Maala belongs to them. Apart from this he also said that even the Corporation doesn’t have documents to claim the property.

It can be brought to light that Pramodadevi Wodeyar reacting to the incident where Mysuru Tahsildar stopped their ongoing cleaning work at Doddakere Maidan on Saturday, had mentioned that Government of India and the then Government of Mysuru has clearly mentioned that the property belonged to Maharaja of Mysore. The royal family has approached corporation for khata, but corporation has failed to provide one.
