Mysuru: The people who had come to witness the defence equipment exhibition at the National Jamboree, were very curious to know whether such equipment used by the Indian Army were being used by Pakistan military too.
When the BSF personnel were explaining about the various equipment used by Indian Army, the Scouts and Guides participants in the age group of 10 to16 years were very curious to know whether such powerful equipment were used in Pakistan. Satsih Kumar, BSF personnel, explained to the participants the various equipment were used. The exhibition included Morter 81mm, with the capacity to reach the target at 5 km distance which was used during Kargil War. He also briefed about para bomb which is equivalent to six lakh candles and used to identify enemies in darkness. Some of the weapons which are used by Indian army are imported from Israel, Russia and Italy.
The participants, most of them being school going children expressed with awe that they had seen such weapons and ammunition only in movies and television programmes but not directly. Ashwin, one of the participants said, “After seeing various equipment, I got motivated further to join the Indian Army.” The weapons which are on display are INSAS LMG, INSAS rifle, 762 MM AK-47, 9 mm CMG, 9 mm pistol and TAVOR rifle. The display included NBC suits and parachutes.
