Mysuru: Even as the state is fighting severe drought, here in this village, there is adequate water, but thanks to the waterman, a drought-like situation has been created due to his high-handedness.
Frustrated residents of the village staged protest outside the local police station and Gram Panchayat by placing empty pots.

The incident took place Bilugali village in Nanjangud taluk.

The villagers alleged that waterman of the village named Madesha has not been releasing water to the village regularly as he is acting as per the directions of his mother who is also the local gram panchayath member.

When the villagers questioned Madesha, he threatened them of poisoning the water that is being supplied to them.

When the villagers go to Chikkatayamma, mother of Madesha, she threatens that she would file rape case against whoever complaints about her son.

The villagers who were fed up of the mother-son duo’s tortures over the last six months, finally held a protest in front of gram panchayath office on Thursday, April 21 demanding removal of Madesha from the post.

The villagers have also registered a complaint at Badanavalu police station against the duo.
