Somavarapete: The voters across the state taught a lesson to corrupt BJP led state administration in the recently held assembly elections.  However, it’s tragic that the voters in Kodagu supported BJP,said JDS state president and former CM H D Kumaraswamy.

Addressing the media persons in a private guesthouse here on Thursday May 23, Kumaraswamy said that the voters’ turnout has significantly increased in the recently held assembly elections, while JDS will take measures in strengthening the party in Malnad and coastal region shortly. JDS has gained many seats on its own strength and geared to function effectively as opposition party in the legislative assembly. JDS has fared better in the recently assembly elections, while JDS candidates in 8 constituencies out of 12 faced defeat for a marginal votes. The voters form minority community and backward classes supported JDS in large numbers in the assembly elections this time, said Kumaraswamy.  Meanwhile, he alleged that both BJP and Congress created confusion among the voters resorting to caste politics in Kodagu district during election campaign, alleged Kumaraswamy.

JDS likely to get over 15 seats in Karnataka in the forthcoming general elections, said Kumaraswamy and advised the party activists to work in this regard at the leadership of veteran politician B A Jeevijay who had won the recent assembly elections with a huge margin.

JDS state leaders Basavaraj Patil Yatnal, former minister B A Jeevijay, block Committee president Bharat Kumar, district backward classes unit president V M Vijay, TP member H R Suresh and others were present at the occasion.
