Mysore: The tourists information centers will be set up across the palace city with the view of overseas tourists arriving to witness Dasara Utsav, said Dasara tourism sub-Committee president Y N Shankare Gowda.
Addressing the media persons during a press meet, Shankare Gowda said that tourism counselors are appointed with those who are studying in the city and know foreign languages. The counselors will guide the tourists during Dasara celebrations on tourism spots across the city, said Shankare Gowda.
Sixteen tourist information centers were set up in the key locations across the city including at St Philomena church, Jayachamarajendra Zoo, Ambavilasa palace, Varaha welcome arch, Mysore city bus terminus, Chamundi Hills, airport, in the compound of Railway station, in the compound of exhibition center, Somanatapura, Srirangapattana, Nanjanagod, Talakladu, Hunsoor, Ti Narsipura. The students of different college who have completed tourism courses will manage the tourist centers, added Shankare Gowda.
Eight horse-carts and nine tongas with the handlers provided with Mysore headgear will serve the tourists to take them on joy rides and also to cherish their memories, added Shankare Gowda.
