Kasargod: The locals staged road-blockade protesting against the deplored state of Badiyadka – Mulleria Road, near here on Thursday September 26.

The protest abruptly stopped the vehicular traffic by the co-ordinated efforts of each protester in different locations set by mobile communications.

Janapara Raste Abhivruddi Horata Samiti, has spearheaded this protest to condemn the district administration in sanctioning funds to repair only a section of Kumbla s- Mulleria Road a distance of 29 kilometers and not allotting funds to repair Badiyadka – Mulleria Road.

The funds were allotted to develop Kumbla – Badiyadka Road a year ago, but the repairs have not taken place.  Its owing to this, Kumbla – Mulleria stretch of road was fully withered making it difficult for motoring.

The protesters held a rally in Mulleria on Thursday morning.  Vyapari Vyavasai Yekopana Samiti, Mulleria and Badiyadka units supported this massive protest.
