Three held, valuables worth Rs 7.20 lakh recovered

Mysuru: Hunsur Rural Police arrested three persons on charges of theft and recovered 210gms of gold worth Rs 7.20 lakh on Wednesday, August 3. With the arrest of the trio, Hunsur police managed to solve three theft cases, two reported at Hunsur Rural Police Station limits and one at KRS Police Station, Mandya district.

According to police the accused have been identified as Abdul Rafi alias Andurafi (22) Govindaraju (20) and Umesh (23), all resident of Hunsur. In the first case, the trio after getting into Siddalinga Shetty’s house in Honnenahalli village of Hunsur Taluk, they managed to take away a gold chain weighing 8.5gm. In the second case, the trio got into Javaramma’s house in Neralukuppe Village of Hunsur taluk and took away a gold chain weighing 150gm. In the third case, they decamped with a 52gm gold chain from a house in Pandavapura Taluk.

Apart from the 210gms of gold, the police have also seized an omni van and a bike. The police also mentioned that one of the accused, Abdul Rafi is a profound offender and was on bail after committing a similar offence. The accused were caught by alert police personnel who saw them moving suspiciously. Their detailed questioning led the police to the detection of crime.

Under the supervision and guidance of Superintendent of Police Abhinav Khare, the police managed to arrest the culprits. Abhinav Khare congratulated the police team for nabbing the accused.
