Mysuru: The election authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the counting of votes for Legislative election for South Graduate Constituency at JSS College on Ooty road on Monday.
Addressing media persons here on Saturday, Regional Commissioner AM Kunjappa who is also the presiding officer said “In the presence of candidates or its members the counting process will begin at 7.30am. All the ballot boxes which have been kept at strong room in the college will be brought to the counting centre. The sealed boxes will be opened in the presence of candidates and election officers. For smooth conduct of counting, we have arranged 20 counting tables. Each table will be monitored by two trained assistants and a supervisor. The counting of votes will begin at 8am. Over nearly 303 staff members will be on duty for the counting process”.
Elaborate security arrangements will be made at the counting centre. Section 144 will be imposed in the 200mtr radius of the counting centre from 6 am till completion of the counting process. Over more than 450 police personnel will be deployed for security duty which includes two assistant commissioner of police, six inspectors, eight sub inspectors, 14 ASI and 100 constables.
