Mysuru: Ranga Rao Memorial School for Disable run by NR group, celebrated 70th Independence Day in the school premises here on Monday.
C S Yogananda, Professor and Head, Department of Mathematics, Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, who has noticeably contributed in the technology that assists visually impaired students in education, along with Guru, Chairman of NR Group hosted the flag in the school amidst the students.
The students enthralled this grand celebration by performing drills, march past and also mesmerized the crowd with their beautiful voices. They rendered national songs and instilled a sense of pride and patriotism in the minds of the public. C S Yogananda has successfully developed an Optical Character Recognition (OCR), for Kannada and Tamil language and in near future plans to address Text To Speech TTS for Kannada language. He has enhanced education for visually impaired students by providing aiding tools.
Speaking on the occasion Guru said, “celebrating Independence Day with the students of Ranga Rao Memorial School for Disabled is always been a wonderful experience. The enthusiasm, patriotism and liveliness of the students are incredibly contagious; you can feel the energy around them.”
C S Yogananda said, “Education is the only way to help the visual challenged to break free from the vicious circle of difference between a normal human and a visual challenged. We are glad that we are able to be a catalyst in bringing about a change in the lives of the children and thereby build a strong future for our country.
