Royal Wedding: Palace to be illuminated from June 25 to 29

Mysuru: As part of Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar royal wedding, Mysuru Palace will be illuminated for five days from June 25 to 29.

Mysuru Palace is illuminated every Sunday usually, but on the royal family’s request, the government permitted for five days of illumination of Mysuru palace on occasion of Yaduveer’s wedding. Apart from this, the royal family members decided to give entry to public inside the palace on June 27 and 28, so that they can view the marriage through big screens which will be set up at prominent places inside the palace.

Venkatesh, incharge director of Mysuru Palace board speaking to newskarnataka.com confirmed that the palace will be illuminated from June 25 to 29. He also mentioned that the timing is yet to be fixed, but will be illuminated when the marriage function will be going on.

The pre marriage rituals will begin from June 24 evening and will go on till June 29. There will be a procession of the married couple for public view in the palace premises. All marriage rituals will begin from June 25. On June 25, the day will begin with Oil bath (Enne Sanana) which is considered auspicious during rituals and paada pooja to guru. ‘Chappara’ programme will also be held. There will be a private function on June 26.

The main function that is muhurtham will be held at Kalyana Mantap on June 27 between 9.05am and 9.35am. The rituals will start from 4 am in the morning and will continue till evening while reception will be held at Durbar Hall on June 28 between 7.30pm and 8.30pm. More than 2000 people not only from across the country but also from foreign countries including consulates from German, France, America and Switzerland have been invited. There will also be reception in Bengaluru Palace on July 2. Over 1500 people are expected to take part in the Bengaluru reception.
