Mysore :Members of the Karnataka Rajya Dalitha Vedike and Mahindra Maximo, Maxicab, Winger, 407, Thoofan, Tata Magic, Owners and drivers Associations staged a protest march in front of the DC’s office. The protestors, who began their march from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple.
They alleged that they were dependent completely on this profession for their livelihood, but the Traffic Police and the Transport Department were imposing restrictions on entry of these vehicles to the city besides imposing fines ranging from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 5,000 on them if they entered city.
They handed over a memorandum in which they have requested the concerned authorities – Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Transport Minister and Home Minister to review these issues. The Vedike District President Revanna, Dist. General Secretary H.S. Shivaswamy, Dist. Vice-President G. Ravi Devalapura, leaders Nataraju, Shankara and others were present.
