Mysuru: With undertrials leveling allegations of corruption against Jail Superintendent, a high-level probe has been initiated against the officer.
It is said that some undertrials had sent an eight-page complaint to the department of prison, talking eloquently of the corrupt practices and irregularities of Jail Superintendent Anand Reddy.
Taking complaint seriously, the Department of Prison sent a probe team led by senior prison official G. Veerabhadraswamy from Bengaluru to collect more information and submit a report. Accordingly, the team that arrived in Mysuru on Thursday grilled Mysuru jail superintendent for over four hours in jail premises and verified all the documents.
They also met undertrials secretly to extract more valuable information from their end based on their complaint. Final report will be submitted to the government soon based on the investigation.
