Mysore : The former minister Ramdas ‘love affair’ case is taking interesting turns with the passing of each day. On February 14, Friday evening, Prema Kumari who made an all of a sudden appearance at the Saraswathipuram Police Station has lodged a complaint against the former minister accusing him of harassing her both sexually and mentally.

Earlier, in the day when Prema Kumari had visited the Apollo Hospital to enquire the health of Ramdas who had attempted suicide and was undergoing treatment there, his followers filed strong objection to her visit. Hours before he could be discharged, police booked him for attempt to murder on the basis of Prema Kumari’s complaint. He has been booked under IPC 417(cheating), 307 (murder attempt) and 506 ( life threat).
Premakumari had earlier met the Police Commissioner along with her family and lodged a written complaint. Commissioner Dr MA Saleem asked her to lodge a complaint at Saraswathipuram station.
What’s there in the complaint? “I was working as Clerk in the Tarikere Sub-Divisional office five years ago. I came into contact with Ramdas, then minister over the issue of transfer. Later, our friendship turned into love. He then developed physical relationship with me after giving me his wife’s status by placing Sindhur on my forehead. Whenever, I demanded his wife’s status legally he put off the issue. When he was the minister, he used to visit our house whenever he was free, without his security personnel. He used to enquire about my children’s education and health and used to stay in our house through the night.”
“He used to say that he had to go far ahead in politics and declaring me as his wife publicly may affect his career. He also used to often threaten to commit suicide, if I made this matter public,” Prema Kumari has said in the complaint.
“On April 12. 2013, he arrived at our house and wished to have food with me and tried to kill me by offering payasam laced with poison. Later I was admitted to JSS Hospital. Later, he also forced me to quit job and rendered my family to the streets,” she has alleged.
“Still, when persisted that he give me his wife’s legal status, he assured me that we will live a life together after elections and asked me to quit job. Later, he neither treated me like his wife, nor helped me financially and got me transferred to Tumkur and has harassed me. Recently, he has been neglecting me and is trying to keep me at bay.”
Prema Kumari has also alleged that Ramdas and his brother Srikanthdas were now threatening to kill her and also said she and her family faced threat from Ramdas and his supporters. She has also demanded protection.
