Mysuru: The Mysuru City Inter-collegiate UG and PG invitational Football tournament-2015 was organized by the Athletes Football Club kicked off here at the Maharaja College football ground on Monday.
Around 16 teams participated in the match. Former national football player Richard Nazareth and former chairman Mysuru Urban Development Authority L Nagendra inaugurated the tournament by kicking the ball.

Speaking on the occasion L Nagendra said, “Football is an active game which requires a lot of stamina and skill. It is a team game where everybody has to pool in their strengths and skills together to win the match. It is necessary to work for the growth of the game in this part of the world just like cricket.”
In the first match NIE defeated MICA by 2-0. Front line player Siddarath scored both the winning goals of the match, in the 23rd and 42nd minute, to reach the next round. 6 matches will be held today and 6 tomorrow, on 25th March the semi-finals and finals will be held. ?
Director of physical education department, UoM Dr C Krishna presided over the occasion.
Vice presidents of the club K R Prakash and R Nanjappa, secretary Gururaj, joint secretary Pashupathi, directors H S Guruswamy, Albert, K Dhanaraj, B N Nagesh, B Leeladhara, Ranjith Hegde, N K Sundar, K Murugesan and many others were present.
