Mysore cops arrest six member gang of dacoits

Mysore :The Nazarbad Police here have been successful in arresting six persons  responsible for supari killings and daylight robberies. Those arrested are Manju, Ahmed of Mysore, Jabi alias Jabiulla, Sajjad, Kiran and Mubarak of Bangalore.Police have recovered  jewellery worth Rs 5.75 lakhs and an Indica car from them.

Mysore City Police Commissioner Dr A Saleem gave details about the arrested on December 31, Tuesday. It is learnt, the accused were planning to rob  houses near Ring Road at Bannur on Monday morning when the Nazarbad police who were on patrolling,  took them into custody. During interrogations, they admitted their guilt and said they were summoned by one Manju who would identify  houses located in isolated areas for them to commit thefts.

Of the accused Jabiulla is in the rowdy list of Kumaraswamy Layout Police Station in Bangalore. The accused were wanted in connection with a theft in Alanahalli house and in other places. Cases have already been registered against them in JP Nagar, KR Puram, Basavanagudi and Udayagiri  police stations.

The Commissioner also informed that  a person named Mahadevappa has been arrested by the Devaraja  police station limits on the charges of cheating an elderly woman and robbing her jewellery. Police have also arrested KD Boregowda, K Ravi of Hunasur, Mahesh of KR Nagara and Mahadeva in connection with various crimes.
