Mysore : In a shocking case reported from the town, some unidentified assailants who kidnapped a 20 day old baby girl, then mercilessly dumped it into a canal. The body of Jiyad, daughter of Fairoz Khan, an auto driver and Sumayya Khan. residents of Shantinagar was found in the Virija canal of BM Road on June 21, Friday morning.
It is said that some assailants who arrived by a Maruti Omni kidnapped the baby when the couple had been to Rakesh Jewellery on Ashoka Road on June 20, Thursday night to pledge jewellery.When the couple immediately rushed to Udayagiri police station to lodge a complaint, the police there turned them away saying the area where the incident took place does not come under their jurisdiction. Finally, the couple managed to lodge a complaint at Mandi police station at 2 am.
As soon as police took up investigations, a few locals informed that they have traced the body of a baby in the canal. The police rushed to the spot and retrieved the body of the child. The cause of the kidnap and the murder of the kid is yet to be ascertained.
