Mysore: The Jodithenginamara Road drainage issues have been a major concern for the locals, addressing to which Mayor NM Rajeshwari and MCC Commissioner PG Ramesh inspected the area on Tuesday July 8.
They scrutinized Ward 43 and 44 along with the officials of the MCC and Vani Vilas Water work (VVWW).
Addressing the media, the Mayor assured that the repair work on the pothole ridden and dangerous Jodithenginamara Road will be taken up shortly after the project is approved from the Technical section of the Mysore City Corporation (MCC).
The Ward 44 Corporator R. Nagaraju, was also present during the meet and narrated the grievances of the residents. He brought up issues such as the bad condition of the road, problems with the supply of drinking water and UGD system.
Moreover the Corporator also highlighted the problems of rain water entering the houses from the drainage next to the houses built to rehabilitate slum dwellers during rainy season, to which the Mayor gave assurance to sort.
Mayor Rajeshwari, speaking to SOM, said that despite tenders being called for the road repair, none has come forward and added that the problems would be solved very soon.
Executive Engineer Krishna, Asst. Executive Engineer (Civil) Krishna Bovi, VVWW Asst. Executive Engineer Rajgopal, Health Officer Dr. Nagaraj, Puttasheshagiri and other officials accompanied the Mayor and the Commissioner.
