Mysore(DC) :The Mauritius president Rajkeswur Purryag and his family members on Saturday visited the Mysore Palace.











President accompanied with his wife Aneetah Purryag and other family members visited the Mysore Palace, dropped into the Government Silk Weaving Factory where the famous Mysore silks are woven.
During the two-day visit, the president got a glimpse into the royal city when he visited the palace and was left in awe as he checked into the century-old monument, officials said.
Making a departure, the local officials took him inside the high security area through majestic Jayamarthanda Gate where the VIPs were extended traditional welcome. They spent some time at the Amba Vilas, the glass-topped durbar hall where the maharajas held durbars during Dasara festival. The palace was closed for tourists when the VIPs were at the must see spot which logs 3.5 million visitors a year.
The VIPs, who have stayed at Lalitha Mahal Palace, visited Brindavan Gardens and viewed the musical fountain on Friday.
The team later took a tour of the Government Silk Weaving Factory, popularly known as the silk factory, which has completed one hundred years two years back. Before getting back to the palace to see the illuminated monument and watch sound-and-light show that tracks the growth of Mysore, they visited the Suttur mutt and spent some time shopping on D Devaraj Urs road, the police stated.
