Mandya: There has been resentment within the Congress in Mandya over the inclusion of sitting MP Ramya’s name in the list of probable candidates for tickets for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Here it is worth mentioning that even during the Mandya bye-polls there persisted differences between former chief minister SM Krishna and District in-charge Minister Ambarish over the selection of candidate. Ultimately, Ramya was successful in getting a ticket and winning from the constituency.
But ever since she became an MP, local Congress leaders have been openly airing their resentment over her frequent and uninformed visits. They have also been alleging that she has not fulfilled the promises made prior to elections.
At the recent meetings held in Srirangapatna and Pandavapura, local Congress leaders had openly opposed Ramya’s candidature for the upcoming polls. However, the same leaders remained silent at a meeting held in Mandya recently,
Sources reveal that Ramya’s name is present in the list of candidates dispatched by the KPCC to the high command.
