Illegal slaughter house raid: 10 cows seized, culprit absconds

Kundapur: An illegal slaughter house was raided by the police at Kandla Gaddhe in Gulvady village on Thursday January 23.

The alleged has been identified as 35-year-old Abubakker of Gulvady, who was running the slaughter house.

The police have seized 10 cows from the slaughter house and the Mahendra pickup van which was used for transportation with Maharashtra registration, valued at Rs 2.25 lakh, but the culprit has managed to escape.

Accordingly a resident of Jalady in Hemmady named Ravi gave police the information of the irregularities, he also complained of his two cows that have gone missing since Wednesday January 22.

On the notification the police rushed on the spot and raided the slaughter house.The raid was carried out at around 12 noon by SI Jayaram Gowda and team.

It was learnt that the accused Abubakker had been arrested for illegal cattle slaughtering earlier too. Kundapur police have registered a case.
