Mysuru: The students of Maharani college staged a protest on Wednesday, demanding water supply to college toilets. The agitating students handed over a memorandum to the DC.
It is said that the college had locked all the toilets over the last few months due to shortage of water supply.

There are over 8,000 students studying here in the reputed Maharani college and they say that their persistent plea for better water supplies and toilet facilities have fallen on deaf ears over the last three years.

However, the situation turned worse and the college closed down the toilets over the last few months, pushing the students to immense difficulties.

The students say that all their efforts to make the college authorities act on the issue had failed and when they threatened to bring the matter to the notice of the government, the authorities tried to silence the students by threatening them of deducting their internal marks.

However the students today staged protest against the college and have threatened to intensify protest if their demands are not met.
