Lt Gen Prasad appointed honorary surgeon for President of India

Madikeri: Lt Gen BNBM Prasad, an Army doctor from Kodagu, has been appointed as the honorary surgeon to the President of India Pranab Mukherjee.

(Dr)Lt.Gen Prasad hails from Biligeri in Kodagu district and is the sixth Lt-General from the district.

Lt Gen Prasad was serving as the DG of Army Hospital Services, New Delhi and is one of the renowned surgeons in treating Lung disorders in super specialty hospitals.

He was awarded the Sena Medal for his service during the Kargil conflict. He had served Field Marshal Manekshaw and has submitted papers on Medical thesis at various conferences in India and abroad.

Lt Gen Prasad joined the Army in 1977 as a medical officer.
