Ganapathy suicide case: Court gives time to family to file objection on CID’s B Report

Madikeri: After analyzing the B report submitted by the CID to the court, Principal civil judge ruled that the complainants have an opportunity to raise objections against the same and submit their appeals to the court on or before September 29.
CID investigation done to prove three accused innocent: M K Machaiah-1Announcing the decision, the principal civil judge (Junior divison ) of JMFC confirmed the submission of  B report by state CID to the court on September 17th and gave an opportunity for all complainants to raise objections on or  before September 29th.

Representing Nehal Ganapathy S/o late DySP Ganapathy, Advocate Prasanna Kumar said , they will study the report before taking further action. Working on behalf of complainants advocate Amruth Poovaiah said, the CID has submitted 600 pages B report citing lack of evidence against the accused. He said, he was awaiting  the B report copy to take  further action  after study.

Janata Dal district president Sanketh Pooviah who is providing legal assistance to complainants accused the state government of placing obstacles to legal battles right from the beginning and said it has exerted lot of pressure on the state police department to ensure the report works in its favour. The CID has submitted the report two days in advance and in the next 10 days the entire case will have to reach its logical end, he clarified.

It may be recalled DySP had committed suicide in a lodge in Madikeri on July 7th . Before committing suicide he had named then state cabinet minister KJ George and senior police officers AM Prasad and Pranad Mohanty directly responsible for exerting lot of pressure on him and hinted at threats to his life. DySP Ganapathy’s son moved court and pleaded registering an FIR in the case. However soon fater the registration of FIR, KJ George had to resign from the cabinet where as the other two were transferred .The government then handed over the case to CID against which the CID submitted its B report on September 17th giving clean chit to all three accused.

Lot of people had gathered in the court premises today during proceedings as the case drew state wide attention.
