Bengaluru/Madikeri: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured to provide Rs 75 lakhs towards dasara celebrations in Madikeri and Rs25 lakhs to Gonikoppa  when the  dasara organising committee delegation met him at his home office ‘Krishna’ in Bengaluru on September 27.

The state government had provided Rs 50 lakhs last year and the district dasara organising committee had sought more funds this year. The delegation led by Member of legislative council Shanteyanda Veena Achaiah and former minister Suma Vasant was assured of additional financial assistance for this year’s dasara by Siddaramaiah.

Appreciating the CM’s gesture, Dasara organizing committee president and city municipal council president Kaveramma Somanna presented a bouquet and thanked the chief minister for his gesture in allotting more funds for this year’s celebration.

Other members of the organising committee were a part of the delegation.
