Mysuru: The workers belonging to Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation Limited (KSIC) in the city protested against the management’s decision for appointing 22 persons on contract basis.
On Saturday, the workers after coming to know that 22 persons have been appointed by KSIC on contractual basis, staged protest demanding the authorities to immediately cancel such recruitment and instead demanded the management to provide such job opportunities to their children. They struck work and questioned the administrators, causing tension for some time.
Rachappa, General Manager, Silk Factory, Mysuru confirming the protest said, “The issue will be brought to the notice of higher authorities. Based on their decision we will decide what should be done.”
