Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar who visited the hospital to inquire about the health of police ASI Aithappa, speaking to media persons, termed the attack on police officer as an act of terrorism.
Police ASI Aithappa was attacked by accused Shamir and Niyaz in wee hours of Wednesday near Lady Hill Circle.
He also said that not only holding guns or bombing cities is an act of terrorism but also creating fear in the police department to succeed in hidden motives through such violence is too.Whichever may be the organisation, government should not allow such incidents, he added.
“ISIS activities which is prevalent in Kerala is heading towards Managluru..As part of this, riots have been started in coastal district. No one has such courage to attack police department. It is because there is a hidden power behind the incident. Government should curb these forces, stop policy of appeasement and give the responsibility to police department or else it will be very difficult in future days”, he added.
“The silence of CM Siddaramaiah’s government shows that people have no protection. Home department has not taken it seriously. Several deaths from Rudresh to Prashanth Poojary have gone unheard.
Even after the Ganapathi’s suicide the department has not woken up. Due to the silence, terrorism and goonda activities have increased. This is because of government’s appeasement policy. When there were communal clashes, government failed to handle them. Now it has led to the attack on police officers”, Kateel expressed.
Bajarang Dal leader Sharan Pumpwell and others were present.
