Jaina Deeksha to 11 yr boy : Shwethambars take out colourful procession

Mysore : The Jaina Shwethambara community members took out a grand procession in the city on November 22, Friday in the backdrop  of the traditional Jaina Deeksha offering  to a 11 year old boy of the community.

The boy who will be given Jaina Deeksha is  Piyan Shu, son of Prakash Nolakha and Kanthabai couple. Community members who converged near the Kote Anjaneya Swami Temple,  took out a procession with Piyan riding a decorated horse. The procession passed through Doddagadiyara, Gandhichowka, Chikkagadiyara, Devaraj Urs Road and Narayana Shastri road  before culminating at the Shwethambara Terapanth Community hall at Siddappa Cicle at Agrahara.

The boy will  be administered Jaina Deeksha by Jain Guru Acharya Mahapragyaji  at Rajasthan on November 28.  Piyan who is a sixth standard student at the Teresian school in the city is learnt to have been greatly inclined towards  worship of God, meditation and spirituality right since a very young age. After accepting Jaina Deeksha he will be travelling the length and breadth of the country and exhort people to lead a  life of peaceful co-existence.

 Piyan’s parents, Prakash and Kanthabai, Dr Piyus Prabhajee,  Jaina Shwethambara Terapanth Samaj leaders Shantilal  Nolakha, Mahaveer Moor, Mahendra Nahar, Ramesh Nolakha, Amar Chand, Vinod Jee, Vikas Jee and others participated in the procession.
