Mangalore: The newly renovated ‘Bhadra Saraswathi Theertha Sarovara’ at the famous Sri Anantha Padmanabha Temple at Kudupu was inaugurated by Sri Vidya Prasanna Theertha Swamiji of Subrahmanya Mutt on Friday November 22.
Sri Vidya Prasanna Theertha Swamiji blessed the occasion and delivered his benedictory speech.
Addressing the devotees, Swamiji said, “Worshipping sacred Ganga during bathing will purify the body and mind of a person. Historic temples and lakes have always helped people to purify the soul and mind. The devotees can enrich their spiritual experiences by this practice.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Moideen Bawa, managing trustee of temple Bhaskar, Karnataka Bank chief general manager Jayaram Hande, temple chief priest Narasimha Tantri, priest Manohar Bhat and Balakrishna Bhat were present on the occasion and graced the event.
It is learnt that the temple is being renovated at a cost of Rs 9 crore. The annual celebrations of the Kudupu Temple will begin from December 3 and the Kiru Shashti Utsav will be on January 6, 2014.
K Krishna Raj Tantri, working president of Temple Renovation Committee delivered the welcome speech while Vasudev Rao Kudupu compered the program.
